
Maasbert leads Schouten Investments, where he is responsible for, among other things, the strategic direction, networking and supervising all its investments. As CEO of N.V. MaasInvest, he has been active in private equity and growth capital for many years. He currently participates with N.V. MaasInvest in more than 90 private equity funds, with a clear focus on strengthening companies in the lower mid-market segment. Value creation and entrepreneurship are at the core of his approach. In addition, he uses his expertise in various advisory boards and investment committees, is co-founder of Two Rivers Capital and M&A Community's Best Small Cap Deal jury chair.
His entrepreneurial journey began in 1993 with the establishment of AFAB Holding N.V., which he developed from a sole proprietorship into an organisation with more than 1,000 employees. In the following years, he held various administrative and supervisory positions, including at the professional football club Vitesse. Maasbert has a broad academic background, with courses in marketing (NIMA-A and NIMA-B), a postgraduate in Marketing Management (MCIM), and programmes at Erasmus University and Nyenrode Business University. He was also awarded the title Baron of Entrepreneurship by Harvard University in 2015.
